At WiTricity, I have begun working on the Vehicle Integration team, putting wireless charging technology into existing electric vehicles. In this role, I have been responsible for bringing up and documenting the hardware involved in integrating wireless charging into a vehicle. This includes testing high-voltage hardware, reverse engineering vehicle CAN and LIN communications, establishing Combined Charging System (CCS) connections between the wireless charger and the car, and HV contactor switching. At WiTricity, the speed of development is fast, so I’ve quickly learned a lot of new skills and further developed existing skills significantly in a short period of time.
